A PERFECT COMPANION FOR PRAYER & MEDITATION
This Anglican Rosary is a powerful tool for contemplative prayer, used by Anglicans and other Christian denominations. The repetitive movement of the fingers across the beads aids in maintaining focus during prayer, helping to prevent the mind from wandering. The rosary’s design, rooted in the mid-1980s creation by Rev. Lynn Bauman, is intended to deepen meditative prayer practices.
INCLUDES AN OLIVE WOOD TAU CROSS
This rosary features a beautifully hand-carved Tau Cross, also known as the St. Francis Cross. Beloved by St. Francis of Assisi, the Tau Cross symbolizes devotion and protection. Over time, the cross will develop a natural patina, enhancing its smooth, tactile feel. Measuring approximately 1.5″ x 1.25″ x 0.15″ (2 cm x 2.5 cm x 0.4 cm), the cross adds a meaningful touch to this already special rosary.
A CHERISHED GIFT FOR ALL OCCASIONS
The Anglican rosary consists of 33 beads, symbolizing the years of Jesus’ life on earth. These beads are grouped into four sets of seven, called “weeks,” with cruciform beads separating them. When opened into a circular shape, the cruciform beads form the points of a cross within the circle, emphasizing the rosary’s spiritual significance. This rosary makes a thoughtful and cherished gift, perfect for any occasion.
ENVIRONMENTALLY FRIENDLY
The olive wood used in this rosary is sourced from the trimmings of ancient olive trees in Bethlehem, the birthplace of Jesus, making this rosary an eco-friendly choice.
PERFECT CHRISTIAN GIFT
This unique rosary comes with a Certificate of Origin from HJW, verifying its authenticity and its origins in the Holy Land. It’s a perfect gift for special occasions such as baptisms, confirmations, or as a meaningful keepsake.

WHAT IS A TAU (TAO) CROSS?
The Tau Cross, resembling the Greek letter “T,” is an ancient symbol with roots in pre-Christian cultures, including the Romans and Greeks. It gained particular significance in the Christian tradition through St. Francis of Assisi, who adopted it as a symbol of his monastic order. The Tau Cross represents a life devoted to God and service to others, and it became known for its protective qualities.
St. Francis of Assisi, once a wealthy merchant’s son, renounced worldly pleasures after a serious illness and dedicated his life to poverty and service. He founded the Dominican Friars, with the Tau Cross as their symbol, signifying their commitment to God and humanity. The Tau Cross also became associated with protection against diseases, a testament to St. Francis’s work with lepers. Despite his hardships, St. Francis remained devoted to his faith, receiving the stigmata two years before his death at age 44.
